Hi! My name is Nikki Wu.

I was made in Taiwan, raised in Vancouver and have fallen in love with
my new home, Toronto. I'm lucky to have so many places to call home
and can travel frequently between these three places.

I developed my love for food from the biggest foodies I know, my grandparents! They expressed their love through their cooking (and force feeding).

As for my sweet tooth, I have my mom and grandma to thank for that.
No one gets more excited about ice cream than grandma Wu and mama Wu.

My eating habits very much revolves around all things sweet. It's amazing how a good dessert can bring so much joy. I love eating with my eyes almost as much as I love to actually eat. I truly appreciate the amount of effort and thought that goes into a beautifully crafted dessert.

I first caught the travel bug after an amazing trip to Paris where I ate about a box of macarons a day, every day, for the whole week I was there. Now a good chunk of my time is dedicated to traveling, discovering a city through its food and basically just eating my way through life.

I have been on a long journey of coping with my mental health. I didn’t always suffer from mental health issues. This is the result of a situation in my life that put me on this long road of recovery. It is hard work and can feel so lonely and frustrating. The “self care” series is my attempt to heal, with the hope that my journey can also help others along the way (it is not intended to substitute professional medical advice). I would love to hear from you if you are comfortable sharing your story, or any personal tips that you find helpful on your journey.

This blog is a creative outlet for me to keep a diary of my adventures, as well as a way for me to share my experiences (sharing is caring and caring is fun!).

I'd love to hear from you!
Any questions, suggestions or even just to say hi.
